FAQ
Where does the Cake Smash session take place?
Sessions are usually held in my studio — but while it’s under construction, I come to you! I’ll bring the setup, lighting, and everything needed to make it easy and stress-free at your home. (Shannon and nearby area).
Who provides the cake?
You have options! You can:
• Cake provided by me (store-bought) – additional $30
• Make your own at home
• Bring one from your favourite bakery
Just a heads-up: vanilla cake with white icing is required for all sessions.
Chocolate and coloured icing can stain my backdrops and props — thanks for helping keep everything clean and photo-ready!
Who provides the outfit?
I have a small selection of simple, neutral outfits available for 1-year-olds.
You're also welcome to bring your own! If you do, I recommend choosing something that matches the backdrop or theme you’ve selected — soft colours and simple styles photograph best.
👉 Please avoid clothing with logos, characters, or writing, as they can be distracting in photos.
What Cake Smash themes do you have?
I offer a variety of themed setups — from soft and neutral to colourful and fun! Once your session is booked, I’ll send you a full list with sample photos so you can pick the one that suits your style best.
When should I book the Cake Smash session?
The ideal time is around your baby’s 11th month. That way, you’ll have your photos ready in time for their first birthday — perfect for invitations, a slideshow, or just enjoying on the big day!
Missed the date?
No worries! A few months after the birthday still works beautifully — it’s all about capturing this fun, messy, unforgettable stage.
What if I want all the pictures from my cake smash session?
No problem at all!
Each package includes a set number of edited images, but if you love them all and don’t want to choose — you can upgrade to get the full gallery for $50.
Just a heads-up: Package 2 typically includes a much larger gallery, since it offers more time and two different setups.
