MY PHOTOGRAPHY STYLE

My approach to newborn photography is natural and minimalistic. I want the focus to stay where it matters most — on your baby. No elaborate setups or distracting props, just clean, timeless images that truly represent them.

I also avoid unnatural posing. As cute as some trends may be, I prioritize your baby’s comfort and safety, always letting their natural movements guide the session.

Take a look at the images below to get a feel for my style — soft, simple, and centered on your little one.

FAQ

When does the newborn session take place?

Ideally, within the first 5 to 14 days after birth, when baby is still sleepy and can be gently posed.

That said, beautiful images are still possible after this window — especially with a more relaxed, lifestyle approach!

When should I book my newborn session?

he best time to book is during your pregnancy, ideally in your second or early third trimester. We’ll pencil in your due date and adjust as needed once baby arrives.

Missed the ideal window?
No problem! We can still try a posed session if that's your preferred style — especially if baby is still sleepy and flexible.
If baby is a bit older or more alert, I usually recommend a lifestyle session at home, which is more relaxed, natural, and just as beautiful.

What should baby wear?

No need to worry — I provide all the wraps, outfits, and props needed for your session.
Just dress baby in something easy to remove before we start (like a loose sleeper or onesie) so we don’t disturb them too much.

What should parents and siblings wear (if they’re included)?

If you’ve chosen a package that includes parents or siblings, I recommend keeping outfits simple and neutral — soft tones like beige, white, grey, or pastels always photograph beautifully and help keep the focus on baby.

Avoid bold patterns, logos, or bright colors. Coordinating (not matching) outfits work best. And for in-home sessions, barefoot is totally fine!

Do I need to bring anything?

Yes! A few essentials help keep the session smooth and baby happy:
• A pacifier (even if baby doesn’t always use it)
• Extra diapers
• Milk — bottle or ready to breastfeed
• Baby lotion or cream, especially if your little one has dry or flaky skin — smooth skin makes a big difference in close-up photos!

You’re also welcome to bring a special item you’d love to include, like a blanket or heirloom.

Do I need to prepare anything beforehand?

A little prep goes a long way! Here’s what helps:

• Try to feed baby right before the session so they’re full and sleepy
• Dress baby in a loose onesie or sleeper — no tight socks or clothing that leaves marks on the skin
• Have your essentials close: pacifier, diapers, wipes, milk, and lotion
• Cream baby up right before the session to help with dry or flaky skin — it really makes a difference in close-up photos!

Don’t worry — I’ll guide you through everything and send a prep reminder before your session!

What’s the difference between posed and lifestyle newborn sessions?

Posed sessions are more structured, using wraps, props, and gentle positioning to create those classic, sleepy newborn portraits. They’re typically done within the first two weeks, while baby is still very sleepy and flexible.

Lifestyle sessions are more relaxed and natural — no posing, no props. They take place in your home and focus on real moments, cuddles, and the connection between baby and family.

Can I request certain poses or colors?

Absolutely! While baby’s safety and comfort always come first, I’ll do my best to include your favorites wherever possible.
